Ethically Made in Australia
100% Merino Wool
We’ve set out to make the best merino hiking t-shirt. A tee that ticks all the boxes. That’s designed to make you feel comfortable and confident on the track. That’s responsibly and locally made, using top quality traceable wool. That’s affordable, and that can be worn on and off the track. We reckon we've nailed it and can't wait to show you.
Our Merino Wool
Grown from happy sheep, ethically farmed in Australia.
Our superfine merino wool is traceable and is 100% mulesing-free. We wouldn't have it any other way. And, importantly, it's comfy AF.
We believe in local. Ottie Merino products are made in Australia.
We work with an ethically certified Australian manufacturer. They pay their staff a fair wage and provide safe working conditions. We're sweatshop-free.
Designed By Hikers, For Hikers
We're absolute merino-fanatic. Love the stuff. #merinowoolrocks
We've set out to create a tee that's perfect under your heavy pack on the Overland Track or a daypack up in the Blue Mountains. Equally, a tee that you don't feel like a dag wearing with a pair of jeans.
Designed with lots of feedback from the awesome hiking community at Hiking in Australia & New Zealand.
How We Tested Our T-Shirts in Stage 3 Lockdown
Not long after we received our first pre-production samples Victoria went into Stage 3 lockdown for COVID-19. What to do when you're trying to make damn good merino t-shirts and can't go hiking in the hills?
When can I buy an Ottie Merino t-shirt?
Soon. How's that for vague? Probably early July 2020.
We were hoping to launch in mid-April but then COVID-19 happened. We don't think now is the right time. People are focusing on more important things.
If you're signed up to the mailing list you'll receive updates as we inch closer to launch. If you haven't signed up, hop to it.
How much will it cost?
We'll let you know once we're a bit closer to launch. Know, though, that we're not going to play any of those price it high and discount often games that you are probably familiar with. We'll be setting a fair 'every day' price—that covers our costs, doesn't compromise on quality, and allows us to operate a sustainable business.
How will I be able to buy a tee?
Right here, on the website! We're working on some pretty handy sizing charts to help you choose the right size, and we'll have a fair return policy in case you stuff up and order the wrong size.
That said, we're chatting with a few independent retailers across Australia about stocking our tees. These are retailers that share our values around supporting local and transparency.
