Cost

Australia & New Zealand

  • Want your order a bit quicker? Upgrade to Express Post for $15 AUD.

Overseas

  • Bit further afield in USA, UK, Canada, or the EU? We charge a flat shipping rate of $20 AUD.

How long does it take?

This is based on in-stock items. If you've ordered a backorder product the ETA will appear at cart. If you order an in-stock and out-of-stock item the in-stock will ship straight away and the backorder item when it comes back in stock.

Australia—For standard post expect your order in 3-8 business days after it's been dispatched. If you opted for Express Post allow 1-3 business days from dispatch. The further out in the sticks you are, the longer delivery may take.

New Zealand—If you're in NZ, we generally ship with Australia Post. Expect your order in 5-7 days.

Overseas—If you're in USA, UK, Canada, or the EU we use Australia Post's international services. Allow 2-3 weeks. (I know, that's a while, but it'll be worth the wait.)

Your order will be fully trackable. It'll be dispatched in 1-2 business days and you'll be emailed a tracking number. (We ship orders Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.)

  • Items must be in original condition and packaging, with all tags/tickets attached and no signs of wear.

  • Follow the return instructions from our Customer Service team.

  • A $10 return/exchange fee applies (covers the cost of shipping your replacement).

  • We can offer an exchange, credit, or refund—your choice.

  • Refunds and exchanges are processed once your return is received and checked. Please allow 7–10 business days from delivery of your return.

  • We reserve the right to refuse returns if items arrive in a non-saleable condition.

Clearance Items

No change of mind refunds on clearance items. However, we'll happily offer a store credit.

Merino Shirts & Bottoms

  • If you picked the wrong size or changed your mind, you’ll cover the return shipping to us, and the item must come back in sellable condition.

  • We’ve got a size chart to help you nail your fit first go.

  • If your tee or bottoms have any quality issues, tell us ASAP.

  • If your top unexpectedly “carks it” within about a month, we’ll make it right. We’ve rigorously tested our products, so this should be rare.

Merino Underwear

  • For hygiene reasons, no exchanges or change-of-mind returns if underwear has been worn, tried on, removed from packaging, or had tags removed.

  • If your undies are faulty or we’ve made an error, our standard returns policy applies (and we’ll meet at least the Australian Consumer Law requirements).

  • Bought a bundle? If you try on only one pair and the rest are unopened with tags, you can return or exchange the unopened ones.

Overseas Orders (USA, UK, Canada, EU)

Please choose carefully—if we need to send you a replacement, extra shipping costs will apply for the second delivery.

Need Your Replacement ASAP?

  • Place a new order for the item you want (and pay as normal).

  • We’ll ship it right away, just like a regular order.

  • When we get your original item back, we’ll refund your first order (minus applicable return fees).

Perfect thermal!!!
“I love this. I am wearing it now - nice and warm BUT not suffocating or restrictive. Feels great on skin and quite forgettable (which is great).”

Comfortable and warm.
“Good for walking, but also for everyday use in winter. Just bought a second one. Wash well, don’t smell...”

Why merino

Nature's performance fabric, and comfortable AF. Ours is 95% superfine Australian merino with a touch of stretch.

Odour resistant

Merino holds odour inside the fibre and lets it go in the wash, so you can wear it again tomorrow. And the day after.

Temperature regulating

Wool traps warm air when it’s cold and lets heat and moisture out when you’re working hard up the hill.

Moisture wicking

Merino pulls sweat away from your skin as vapour, so you stay drier under a pack.

Super soft

Superfine fibres are so fine they bend instead of prickling your skin. No itch.

Biodegradable

Natural and renewable, and it breaks down at the end of its life. Synthetics don’t.

Why it isn’t itchy

Superfine, measured in microns

Wool feels itchy when its fibres are thick and stiff enough to prickle your skin. Superfine merino fibres are so fine they bend away instead, which is why most people find ours isn’t itchy at all.

Human hair ~70 µm
Coarse wool (the itchy jumper) 25+ µm
Standard merino 19–24 µm
Ottie superfine merino 18.4 µm

Superfine merino is 18.5 microns or finer. Lower is softer.

Questions

The things people usually ask before they buy.

Still stuck? Ask us

How should thermals fit?

Close to the skin, like a base layer should. They're stretchy, but some customers find them a bit snug, so consider going up a size. Merino can shrink a little after the first wash. See the size chart.

Can I sleep in them?

Absolutely. Merino thermals make great PJs when you’re camping.

How many days can I wear them?

With normal wear you should get about three days out of them before they need a wash.

Can I wear them on their own?

Around camp and in your sleeping bag, sure. They’re close-fitting though, so they’re a bit revealing for a night out at the pub. Pop something over the top.

How do I wash them?

Nothing special needed. Machine wash is fine.

How long does delivery take?

We post your order the next business day. From there it’s up to Australia Post, so delivery time depends on where you are.

What if they don't fit?

Return it unused within 30 days of your order for an exchange, credit or refund. Email us and we'll sort you out. A $10 return/exchange fee applies, and for a wrong size or change of mind you cover the return postage. Full details.
